The 8 hour course will provide an overview of key building features
that affect building performance. An overview of appropriate
provisions found in the Florida Building Code is included. The course
addresses the Building as a System and examines building failures due
to outdoor and indoor environments through both building design
and building construction techniques. An overview of green building
certification programs is included, but not limited to, USGBC – LEED
for Homes, NAHB Green Building Standards, DOE/EPA ENERGY STAR®
and FGBC – Green Homes Standard.
