Bruce Hammond

Bruce is CEO of Hammond & Company, a construction services and development company that builds high quality residential and commercial projects throughout the northern San Francisco Bay Area. A consistent focus of the company since its 1980 inception has been identifying and utilizing construction technologies and practices that minimize impact on the environment, with particular emphasis on energy efficiency, resource conservation, durability, and integrated site design. His projects have been featured in numerous publications and he has been a featured speaker on Green Building for many conferences and professional organizations. Mr. Hammond is a LEED AP. He was the founding Chairman of the US Green Building Council – Redwood Empire Chapter, and is currently a member of the REC Board of Advisors. He was one of the founding faculty of the yearlong “Green Building Professional Certificate Program” at Sonoma State University where he taught for many years. He was a past Planning Commissioner for the city of Cotati, as well as a member of their Design Review Board, in which he was instrumental in certifying the first LEED project in the North Bay Region, and in establishing Cotati’s “Sustainable Building Program.” Bruce has a passion for green building, ecological landscape design, and the art of Aikido. He is a lifelong learner and a lover of wild places.
