Betsy Van Ness

Betsy serves Green Advantage in a contractual position as external auditor, and supports the Accreditation Committee of the Board of Directors. She has been involved in many accreditation processes throughout her career, including working as a surveyor for the Commission on Accreditation of Rehabilitation Facilities travelling to sites around the country.

Betsy “officially” retired from her 25 year career at Way Station, Inc., a large community mental health program in Frederick, Maryland in 2011, and currently is enjoying three part time jobs. She is a social worker by profession graduating with her masters in social work from the University of Chicago in 1966. She has worked in the mental health field for over 40 years in both clinical and administrative positions. She is currently an adjunct faculty member in the social work department at Hood College in Frederick and a consultant for Way Station, Inc. Among the various positions Betsy held at Way Station, she served as Quality Assurance Officer, Director of Human Resources, Director of Adult Service Programs, and COO.
