Dr. Reichard is an Associate Professor of Buildings Construction and a building science research specialist at Virginia Tech. He is a principal faculty in the Myers-Lawson School of Construction, which bridges the Colleges of Architecture and Engineering at Virginia Tech. Previous to his position at Virginia Tech, he conducted research at the Lawrence Berkeley Laboratory in California, and Graz University of Technology in Austria. His research focus has been in the area of building sciences for more than two decades. In his current research, he focuses on building performance, energy efficiency in buildings, retrofitting solutions, systems integration, integrated control strategies, and smart building materials – using modeling and simulation assessment techniques to improve our buildings, its systems and processes. Besides his research activities, Dr. Reichard has also developed educational software tools for the building industry.
