Svetlana Olbina earned her PhD in Environmental Design and Planning with a focus on Building Construction from Virginia Tech, and Masters and Bachelors in Architecture from University of Belgrade. She is an Associate Professor in the Department of Construction Management in the College of Health and Human Sciences at Colorado State University. Previously she taught at the University of Belgrade and the University of Florida. At Colorado State University, Svetlana teaches undergraduate and graduate classes related to sustainable design and construction, graphic communications for construction, and construction materials and methods. In addition, she conducts research on building information modeling (BIM), Virtual and Mixed Reality, sustainable built environment, and safety in construction. Svetlana also coaches the Virtual Design and Construction (VDC) student competition team and advises the Women in Construction (WiC) student club.
