Green Advantage Convenes New Certification Board at 2011 GA National Certification Standards Development Summit

 WASHINGTON, DC  (January 28, 2011) – Green Advantage, Inc., welcomed new and returning members of its Certification Board during a two day summit held in Washington, D.C. January 22-23, 2011. The Green Advantage (GA) Certification Board represents a diverse group of green academic research and policy setting organizations as well as other experts from across the country.  “Green Advantage is privileged to have a Certification Board composed of such high caliber individuals,” said Grady O’Rear, Green Advantage, Inc. President/CEO. “Their involvement will ensure significant advancement of the quality and effectiveness of Green Advantage Certification.” 

With a focus on promoting clarity, appropriateness, and diverse participation within the nationally recognized Green Advantage Certification credentialing program for green builders, the newly convened certification board, along with GA staff, will enhance the exam development process in keeping with the highest standard of personnel certification, ANSI/ISO/IEC 17024 and will ensure the impartiality, comprehensiveness, and accessibility of the GA Exam®.

Made possible by assistance from the Ford Foundation, Holland and Knight, and Infineco, the Summit was held at the Washington, D.C. office of Gensler and was deemed an extraordinary success. The new board will utilize input gathered from industry experts, construction personnel, workforce development and green building rating system representatives to further develop the comprehensive set of competencies and best green building field practices from which GA Exam® items are derived.
